This exhibition was curated by Lindsey Loeper (Special Collections) in conjunction with UMBC's centennial celebration of the Harlem Renaissance during the 2025-2026 academic year. The Harlem Renaissance, spanning from the 1920s into the early 1930s, was a robust and dynamic artistic and cultural era in predominantly Black communities in the United States, exemplified by Harlem, NY. 

All items on display are part of the UMBC Special Collections. Researchers are encouraged to visit the Special Collections reading room to view these items and more. Open hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 12-4pm and Thursday 12-7pm. Additional information at library.umbc.edu/specialcollections.
