Come learn about the issue of food insecurity on campus and make a contribution to the Library’s Free Corner Store! Join Retriever Essentials and the Library as we show a portion of the acclaimed documentary Hungry to Learn and discuss what food insecurity looks like at UMBC. This is an excellent opportunity for faculty, staff, and students to join in conversation and learn how each of us can play a part in addressing the issue. We will be accepting toiletry and non-perishable food donations for the Library’s new Free Corner Store, such as:

TOILETRIES
  • Soap
  • Deodorant
  • Lotion
  • Sunscreen
  • Hair products
FOOD
  • Spices (cumin, turmeric, coriander, curry leaves, chili powder, salt, thyme, bitterleaf (West African)
  • Maggi noodles 
  • Nuts (peanuts, cashews, etc)
  • Dosa batter
  • Instant panipuri
  • Ghee
  • Aloo paratha
  • Basmati rice
  • Jollof rice (West African style rice)
  • Garri (cassava flour)
  • Fufu
  • Fish sauce
  • Rice cakes
