Exploring the Gadgets & Gizmos In Your AI Toolkit: Dr. Eric Stokan

This talk is geared toward describing students' opportunities by appropriately and thoughtfully using Large Language Models (LLMs) in advanced ways.  Drawing on the literature from public administration, public policy, and political science, this talk begins by describing how these tools are used in the social sciences.  A brief description of fine-tuning an LLM for a text classification task is offered, before a call is made for more advanced training in the Fall and Winter of 2025/2026 through the Center for Social Science Scholarship (CS3) in partnership with the library system.
