One responsibility of conducting research at UMBC is to be and remain informed about federal, state and institutional regulatory requirements that can affect how research investigation is conducted. Join your colleagues from the Office of Research Protections and Compliance (ORPC) at an informational session to learn about how to be a responsible researcher, which steps to take to obtain approval to conduct research, and what training is required. The ORPC will also provide consultation on specific questions you may have to create, design and conduct research studies following UMBC compliance committee requirements. For more information, click on the ORPC website or contact the ORPC at compliance@umbc.edu

This activity is dedicated to assisting the campus with completing the necessary certifications for research compliance. All researchers who work with NSF and NIH-funded projects, and all graduate students working on a master’s thesis or doctoral dissertation must complete CITI certification, or a department-approved equivalent.

Speakers: Representatives from the Office of Research Protections and Compliance.
